Sally King - Studio Director and Founder

From a background in marketing and sales promotion Sally launched her career in the fitness industry in 1999, teaching aerobics, circuits, body pump and body attack in the Surrey area.
She qualified as a personal trainer in 2001 and then in 2003 trained in Pilates Matwork at The Pilates Institute in London.
She has subsequently added qualifications including pre and postnatal Pilates, rehab Pilates, Pilates reformer and YMCA Trainer and Assessor accreditation to her portfolio.
Whilst living in Southsea, Sally worked closely with the Royal Navy Physiotherapy team and established a successful patient rehabilitation referral programme.
She then spent two years living and working in Melbourne, Australia managing a Wellness centre and lecturing for the YMCA on their Pilates and Fitness instructor training courses.
In January 2008, on her return to the UK, Sally started the Pilates Room and is delighted at how quickly the programme has expanded.
She is hoping to diversify the provision to include instructor training courses to provide the opportunity for people to train to become Pilates instructors themselves.
Sam Edwards

Sam Edwards, a genuine homegrown talent, who joined our instructor team in August 2009. Sam recently trained as an
instructor and has been attending classes twice weekly since January 2007. She was a long term sufferer of chronic lower back
pain and had reached the point of invasive spinal treatment. Pilates represented a last ditched attempt to solve the problem.
A former gymnast and dancer, Sam was a natural and quickly developed beautiful technique and understanding leading to a full
recovery and a genuine belief in the Pilates method.
Claire Maguire

Clare's instructor training began in 2002 when she trained to teach matwork pilates with Michael King at The Pilates
Institute in London. She went on to train with Pilates International for both matwork and large equipment Pilates.
She taught group fitness classes at health clubs and personal trained Pilates in both Birmingham and London.
Clare has benefited from teaching Pilates and Yoga in Australia and Thailand 2004-2005, where she worked with
Physiotherapists, sports people, sports professionals and expanded her repertoire by adding Stott Pilates techniques
and exercises. Clare's enthusiastic approach is inspiring, as well as accommodating to all levels and abilities.
Her calm demeanour coupled with in-depth knowledge of Pilates enables clients to work effectively, thus achieving
their potential and personal goals.
Tina Westwood

Tina first came to Pilates in 2008, where she enrolled in classes at The Pilates Room, as referred by her
physiotherapist (having sustained a back injury as a result of mountain biking).
As the back got better, she soon became totally hooked and when the option of voluntary redundancy became a reality she
seized the opportunity to leave corporate life as an HR Manager and train as a Pilates Instructor.
She trained with Pilates International and Body Control and began teaching at The Pilates Room in Autumn 2010.
She is an enthusiastic and friendly Teacher who is passionate about Pilates and the wonderful results it can achieve
whilst ensuring that her clients have fun as well.
