Sally King - Studio Director and Founder

From a background in marketing and sales promotion Sally launched her career in the fitness industry in 1999, teaching aerobics, circuits, body pump and body attack in the Surrey area.
She qualified as a personal trainer in 2001 and then in 2003 trained in Pilates Matwork at The Pilates Institute in London.
She has subsequently added qualifications including pre and postnatal Pilates, rehab Pilates, Pilates reformer and YMCA Trainer and Assessor accreditation to her portfolio.
Whilst living in Southsea, Sally worked closely with the Royal Navy Physiotherapy team and established a successful patient rehabilitation referral programme.
She then spent two years living and working in Melbourne, Australia managing a Wellness centre and lecturing for the YMCA on their Pilates and Fitness instructor training courses.
In January 2008, on her return to the UK, Sally started the Pilates Room and is delighted at how quickly the programme has expanded.
She is hoping to diversify the provision to include instructor training courses to provide the opportunity for people to train to become Pilates instructors themselves.
Laura Kidd

Laura's reputation for being a confident and engaging teacher is reflected in just how popular her Pilates classes are.
Clients enjoy her enthusiastic approach, combined with a natural flair for choreographing multi-levelled classes catering for all abilities.
Laura qualified as a fitness instructor with the YMCA in 1996, initially teaching aerobics, spinning and salsacise.
She then trained as a Pilates mat instructor with Michael King at The Pilates Institute in 2003.
She has since taken further courses in Pilates including; 'Next Step Pilates', Pilates using equipment, Advanced matwork Pilates and Pre and post-natal Pilates.
Sam Edwards

Sam Edwards, a genuine home grown talent, who will be teaching her own classes from August 2009. Sam recently trained as an
instructor and has been attending classes twice weekly since January 2007. She was a long term sufferer of chronic lower back
pain and had reached the point of invasive spinal treatment. Pilates represented a last ditched attempt to solve the problem.
A former gymnast and dancer, Sam was a natural and quickly developed beautiful technique and understanding leading to a full
recovery and a genuine belief in the Pilates method. Initially she will be teaching on Thursday mornings and Tuesday evenings.
Lisa Longhurst

Lisa Longhurst started practicing Pilates in 2001 whilst working in Santa Barbara, California, USA.
Being taught by one of the best instructor's inspired her to want to begin a career in teaching.
Now based in Capel, Surrey Lisa teaches both mat work and equipment to all levels and ages in group or private sessions.
Lisa trained with Body Arts and Science International with Amit Younger at the Royal Academy of Dance, London in 2005.
Kathy Gerrard

After working for many years as a pharmacist, Kathy decided to train as a Fitness Instructor due her passion for exercise and keeping fit. She has been working in the fitness industry for over fifteen years. Upon gaining her YMCA Exercise to Music qualification she started teaching part time and after about two years gave up her full time day job to work in a private sports centre as the fitness manager. During this time Kathy decided to specialize in exercise for older adults. In 2000 she became involved with a project being run by the YMCA promoting exercise for people with chronic disease and disabilities and was part of the first group of people to take these specialist exams, she has since worked with Physiotherapists at East Surrey Hospital implementing a Cardiac Rehabilitation program for the YMCA.
Kathy initially trained in mat-work Pilates with The Pilates Institute in 2001. She realized the immense benefits that can be achieved for the older adult through Pilates, she has continued concentrate in this area ever since.
Kathy's caring nature, coupled with her specialist knowledge in this area have made her classes extremely popular, she takes a holistic approach to exercise, yet teaches Pilates for functional fitness.
Claire Maguire

Clare's instructor training began in 2002 when she trained to teach matwork pilates with Michael King at The Pilates
Institute in London. She went on to train with Pilates International for both matwork and large equipment Pilates.
She taught group fitness classes at health clubs and personal trained Pilates in both Birmingham and London.
Clare has benefited from teaching Pilates and Yoga in Australia and Thailand 2004-2005, where she worked with
Physiotherapists, sports people, sports professionals and expanded her repertoire by adding Stott Pilates techniques
and exercises. Clare's enthusiastic approach is inspiring, as well as accommodating to all levels and abilities.
Her calm demeanour coupled with in-depth knowledge of Pilates enables clients to work effectively, thus achieving
their potential and personal goals.
