Sarah Reeves

Partner & Co-owner

Sarah first tried Pilates only five years ago having enjoyed Yoga for many years.  She immediately embraced the structure of the Pilates principles focusing on strengthening the core, and working specific muscle groups as she found it made such a difference to eliminating her own minor lower back pain.

Sarah decided to follow in her family's teaching background, training and qualifying to Level 3 Matwork with Body Control Pilates, so that she could work with clients to help improve their posture, flexibility and muscle strength to stay fit and active.

She has since qualified to teach specialist groups: Teaching the Older Person, Bone Health At Level 3, and is currently training in Pregnancy Level 1 and 2 for Pilates. Sarah is a member of the Body Control Pilates Association and REP's, and is keen to continue her own teaching development attending courses and working towards her Level 4 qualification.

Tina Westwood

Tina first came to Pilates in 2008, where she enrolled in classes at The Pilates Room, as referred by her physiotherapist (having sustained a back injury as a result of mountain biking). As the back got better, she soon became totally hooked and when the option of voluntary redundancy became a reality she seized the opportunity to leave corporate life as an HR Manager and train as a Pilates Instructor.

She trained with Pilates International and Body Control and began teaching at The Pilates Room in Autumn 2010. She is an enthusiastic and friendly Teacher who is passionate about Pilates and the wonderful results it can achieve whilst ensuring that her clients have fun as well. She continues to enhance her continuous professional development by attending Pilates courses and seminars which include amongst others: ante and post natal Pilates; Pilates and osteoporosis and Pilates for older clients.

Dawn Chappell

Dawn has always been very active. In younger years she was a real gym bunny and also enjoyed aerobics and spinning. She first started attending Pilates classes in order to improve her horse riding and quickly fell in love with it - “I just loved what it did to my body - long lean muscles, improved flexibility and of course, greater stability”

Redundancy presented the opportunity for her to ‘take some time out’ to train as a Pilates Instructor, which she did, with Body Control Pilates. She is keen to continue building her knowledge and gaining further knowledge, experience and qualifications. Dawn likes to make her classes both fun and challenging and enjoys helping people get the most out of their Pilates practice.

Belinda Cox

As a member of her local health club, Belinda first decided to try Pilates several years ago to see if she could help ease increasing spells of back and neck pain, and found to her amazement it worked!  A career as a legal adviser in the magistrates courts service meant ( amongst many other good things ) long periods of sitting still in formal situations which was not good for her body. A chance of voluntary redundancy - together with huge support and persuasion from her Pilates teachers - gave her the opportunity to train and qualify as a level 3 Pilates instructor at YBFit Training in Surrey.

She quickly added pre and post natal fitness to her qualifications and has recently undertaken training specifically relating to Pilates and Osteoporosis- focusing on both the improvement/management of, and preventative measures. She is passionate about Pilates and immensely proud to be teaching at the Pilates Room. Her goal is to help each and everyone of her clients towards increasingly flexible, healthier, pain-free and happier bodies.

Wendy Scott

Wendy has lived in Dorking for over thirty years, bringing up a family and working in estate agency. Her family is now grown up and she and her husband divide their time between Dorking and Mallorca.

Wendy has been passionate about exercise all her life, and in 2013 decided to follow her dream of working in the health and fitness industry.  She first qualified as a Pilates instructor, quickly followed by Exercise in Water (Aquafit) and then Exercise to Music (body conditioning).  She has always enjoyed working with people and now delights in helping clients reach their fitness goals, bringing a smile to every class and making exercise enjoyable as well as effective.

Wendy teaches in Surrey and Mallorca, and also hosts fitness retreats at her house in Mallorca. As she is not in Dorking all year round, she does not have a regular class at the studio, but you are sure to meet her covering classes if other teachers are away!

Mary Fullalove

Mary began her career as a nurse and has always prioritised health and fitness in her life. However, when the opportunity arise to join BA’s long haul cabin crew, she took to the skies until parental responsibilities grounded her.

Mary is highly motivated and has a love for the outdoors and physical activity. In her mid-forties, she developed an appreciation for long-distance running and has since completed several marathons. To address developing back problems, she turned to Pilates-based physio exercises, which kept her niggles at bay. Recognising the positive effects of the practice, Mary pursued this interest and qualified as a level 3 Mat Pilates instructor (via YBFIT Training) for her 50th birthday. She subsequently gained level 2 in Exercise to Music, then Barre Concept and now teaches alongside her part-time role in a busy school office.

Mary strongly believes that anyone can benefit from Pilates and takes huge pleasure in supporting her clients in achieving their fitness goals and improving their overall wellness.
